The Amazing Spider-Man might be considered a boastful misnomer in some circles. The more-so polarizing than ever awe-inspiring Spider-Man reboot certainly sparked opinionated debates venturing far away from friendly neighborhoods. Yet despite mixed emotions in Marvel fans everywhere…the sequel is slated for a 2014 release and weaving webs of doubt that clog even the originals misgivings. Django Unchained’s Jamie Foxx is set to play the electric antagonist that is the second tier Electro. Seeds are being planted placing Paul Giamatti in another rogue role. Yet the return of what many consider Peter Parker’s definitive love has still left us without the jackpot. Sure to stoke the love-triangle between Emma Stone’s Gwen Stacy, MJ has been left largely secret. That is…until now. Alongside this weeks announcement of the new Todd McFarlane harkening larger-eyed Spider-Man costume and the inclusions of mysterious secret agents, Shailene Woodley’s Mary Jane Watson also appeared on today’s New York City set. Drawing natural comparison to the fell from grace Kristen Dunst of the original Raimi trilogy, is this the bombshell model of Spidey lore that comic aficionados have begged for or should we simply face it, Tiger…we have another Mary Plain? While it is an inkling of the future, it may just be too soon to tell.
