When Disney bought Lucasfilm for 4 billion dollars (I still can’t write that without hearing Doctor Evil’s voice in my head) everyone was all “ZOMG! Star Wars 7”!

So was I, really, but I also thought “that means that Disney now owns the creative rights to Indiana Jones”.

Harrison Ford has said he’d be interested in coming back for Indy 5 but the distribution rights belong to Paramount making things a bit trickier. Turns out that Paramount and Disney have been having discussions regarding that and have come to an agreement! Disney will own the distribution and marketing rights to the new movies and Paramount will retain them for the old ones.

You know that Disney will be making a new Indiana Jones as soon as they can. They have about 4 billion dollars they need to make up for and back in 2011 George Lucas said that there’s already a story in place if not the McGuffin.

The big question on my mind is, will they reboot the series? It seems laughable, but I wouldn’t rule it out.
