This apparently may be an option now.  Jennifer Lawrence is the current leading lady to don the blue paint and red tresses for the X Men film franchise, and now that they’ve got her makeup process down from 6-8 hours to a more manageable 3-4 hours, she’s more likely to say yes for a spinoff flick.

Writer and co-producer of DOFP Simon Kinberg said:

There are so many different ways you could go with the character and a lot of story to tell. Part of the challenge of these movies we’re talking about is to give everybody enough drama to play, so the notion of Jen being the lead in her own movie is interesting.”

I was not on board with her casting at first, but X-Men: First Class is my favorite of the X films.  She sold it, her portrayal worked in the context of the team, and I’d totally shell over the money to see her in her own film.  As long as we get the fuzzy blue nightelf BAMF and possibly a new actress to play Rogue.

X-Men: Days of Future Past opens worldwide May 23rd, 2014.
