  1. Jenny,

    You make some valid points.

After watching your rant I firmly believe that you must be a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle and Michael Bay must be rewriting your personal back story.

You do realize that TMNT were created in the mid 80’s? I can’t imagine that you’re much older than 24 or 25, probably closer to 20? Which would put you somewhere around 9 months from being born around the height of the TMNT’s popularity which started to wane around 1991.

Again, You make some valid points but why are you so angry. You’re acting as though Michael Bay is going back in time and re-writing your story. It’s not all that serious. You put forth a whole lot of energy bashing something that you have no control over. Why not use that energy instead to re-vamp the series yourself. show Michael Bay a better alternative. It’s easy to criticize others efforts and insanely difficult to do better than those you’re criticizing.

    1. Joseph,
I am 25. I grew up watching the turtles. Michael Bay has taken liberties with way to many things that I have grown up watching at this point. I’m angry because somethings should be left the fuck alone.
Plus you say show him by creating a better story. As if I couldn’t. Myself and everyone here at Aggressive Comix could easily do that no questions ask. BUT there are a lot of freedoms no one has. Such as getting the rights to even start working on something like that.

      1. Jenny,

I just want to be clear that I think turning the TMNT into aliens is probably one of the worst ideas in the history of bad ideas.

You mention that there are a lot of freedoms that no one has. Let’s talk about a freedom that allowed you to fall in love in TMNT in the first place that I thought was ridiculous, but understood.

I’m 37. TMNT belonged to my generation. Not yours. Lets think about the creative license the people who OWN the rights to TMNT took in order to bring TMNT to you and your generation. TMNT were created in 1984. Let’s say they were 13 years old on that fateful day. They made their television debut in 1987(?). That would make them 16 years old, still Teenage mutant ninja turtles. Let’s not forget that they had a 3 or 4 year run on television putting them in the 20 year old bracket….. no longer Teenage… Fast-forward to 1994 and the series was reduced to 8 1/2 hour episodes… Our Teenagers are now twenty-three or so… the Live-action of 1997 or 1998 (wish we could forget these, right?) Our TMNT are no longer really teens, now are they? 2002/3? rolls around and we still have Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?

How about FUCK YOU to everyone of the writers and producers who took creative license with my generation’s TMNT and made them unaging and immortal? Or ( I like this one better) It’s really good that these writers and producers chose to try and keep these wonderful characters alive for so long so that all of these kids could enjoy them growing up as I did. If they hadn’t robbed me of my childhood characters/memories then you would have never become a fan.

Unfortunately, Alien invasions are what’s selling in contemporary American film and cinema. I’d like to say there are worse ways to revamp the TMNT but I would be lying. I look at it like this, maybe twenty years from now Leo, Raph, Mikey and Don will still be making kids happy.

Good video. It’s little hate-filled over the top, but you get the point across.

    Joseph

That’s a good way to look at it. While cutting up the backstory and reinventing it may be the worst idea ever, I think it would be even worse to let the boys die off and fade into oblivion only to be remembered by a few diehards.
