It’s a sad day for all of us who grew up on Ghostbusters. Harold Ramis has passed on from complications from a rare disease called autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis.

Ramis was an amazing comedic filmmaker giving us such classics as  Groundhog Day, Ghostbusters, Stripes, Caddyshack, National Lampoons Vacation and Animal House just to name a few. Ramis is quoted saying.

“There’s a pride in what I do that other people share because I’m local, which in L.A. is meaningless; no one’s local,” Ramis said upon the launch of the first movie he directed after his move, the 1999 mobster-in-therapy comedy “Analyze This,” another hit. “It’s a good thing. I feel like I represent the city in a certain way.”

This might also mean the end of Ghostbusters 3 since not having Bill Murray or Harold Ramis means there will only be 2 original Ghostbusters left.

Harold Ramis you were a great man. We will miss you!  Let us all raise our glass to the legend that is Harold Ramis.
