It was announced today by Deadline that the powers that be at Sony are moving ahead with their plan for a female fronted film for 2017.

While no real details for this are known yet, we DO know they are eyeballing Spider-Man ladies Black Cat, Silver Sable, Spider Woman, and Firestar for this installment.  Yes, these names are all part of the Marvel COMIC universe, but they were a part of the large sum of characters included in the Sony movie rights purchase of Spider-Man and his super friends.

Hopefully, Marvel will step it up and announce their Captain Marvel plans.
