Arguably the single greatest Star Trek movie ever made (hey, even the Trek greats say this), it looks like the scores of Galaxy Quest fans will finally get the tv series we always knew we wanted.
If you recall, the film is centered around the lives and trials of a group of actors on the most famous sci fi series of it’s time, and the hilarity that ensues when a real alien race discovers the “historical documents” and create the Protector ship as well as recreating the various technologies in the series.
The Hollywood Reporter just dropped this massive beryllium sphere of excitement, that a TV series based on the 1999 sci-fi film Galaxy Quest is in the works at Paramount Television:
The film’s scribe Robert Gordon is expected to write the TV version and executive produce with the film’s director Dean Parisot, producer Mark Johnson and Johnson’s producing partner Melissa Bernstein.
No word on if Commander Taggart and company will return, but we’re REALLY hoping they’ll at least make cameos. We’ll let you guys know as this story progresses.
