“Heeeeey yoooou guuuuuys!” So on we go with movies that don’t need to be touched; today we have two, Gremlins and Goonies. Now these reboots have had a myriad of updates, which basically just means a roller coaster of emotions for the true fans.

According to Chris Columbus(writer for both films) when asked ‘Do you really think either of those movies are ever going to happen?’ He answered by saying, “Like the Goonies would say, never say die.”

Columbus confirmed that he hasn’t given up hope on either film yet and says that he’s “heavily developing” both Gremlins and Goonies reboots with Warner Bros. He reiterated his belief that both of those films will happen at some point, but that “it’s a slow process and I don’t think it will happen too quickly.” There have been talks for years that the Goonies would be a sequel but according to Columbus this will not be the case. Columbus used the word “reboot” and producer Frank Marshall has previously gone on record saying, “it’s not going to be a sequel.”

As for Gremlins Columbus has previously said that the Gremlins reboot would include “the same universe, the same rules, same Gremlins,” but one thing that wouldn’t be returning is original director Joe Dante, who is not involved with the new film.

Now, we are just standing here as they make us do the truffle shuffle for the next update. What are your thoughts on these re-boots.
