Superman.  My first Superman, even though I’ve seen several of the George Reeves serials.  You have to admit, it seemed so often like a light emanated from Christopher, one of peace and hope, making him pretty much the ideal Last Son Of Krypton then now and forever.

He was everyone’s favorite romantic hero in Somewhere In Time, my favorite hypochondriac actor in Noises Off, and even passed on the red cape to Tom Welling with an appearance in Smallville.  His acting credits were not as numerous as you’d expect them to be, but everything on his list is something influential.

Chris was active in numerous charities throughout his life, and doubly so after his dressage accident that left him paralyzed from the neck down after a fall from his horse.  Various forms of treatment were tried, and eventually, the family went to Israel to try their luck with the fledgling states of early stem cell research.  Once he returned to the US, he began public speaking again, most notably an appearance at the 1996 Oscars.  Chris and Diana stayed active in fundraising developments for ongoing scientific research til the end of their days.  Their three children carry on the family legacy.
