Fresh off her Emmy nomination for directing an episode of Orange Is The New Black, Oscar winning actress Jodie Foster may be joining the Hannibal tv family.

If you’re one of the few people who aren’t aware, Foster won an Oscar for her portrayal of Clarice Starling in 1991’s Silence Of The Lambs opposite Sir Anthony Hopkins’s Oscar winning Hannibal Lecter.  She subsequently turned down the opportunity to reprise the role of Starling in 2001’s Hannibal, saying she had no interest in revisiting the character or story.

But, as so often happens after a night at a big awards show, the news coming out of the Emmys is that Bryan Fuller might have convinced Foster to direct an episode or two of NBC’s hit tv series Hannibal in it’s upcoming third season.  I’m not buying it yet myself, but this article from E! seems pretty confident in the meaning of Fuller’s tweet.

As a fan of all these things, I think it would be wonderful, and a full circle experience for Fannibals of all kinds.
