Our favorite ‘gets cast in something and ends up dead’ guy Sean Bean (Goldeneye, Kingdom Of Heaven, Lord Of The Rings, Game Of Thrones) might have just accidentally spoiled Jon Snow’s parentage.
THIS POST WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS IF YOU HAVE NOT READ ALL THE BOOKS. I WARN YOU NOW. READ AT YOUR OWN PERILL, YOU GUYS.
There are at least 10 different theories as to who Jon Snow’s (the Bastard raised at Winterfell and then elected to Lord Commander of The Night’s Watch before being stabbed repeatidly in the back Ceaser style) parents are. (I still personally think he’ll be fine, with Melisandre up at Castle Black, she’ll pull a Thoros of Myr and bring him back to life ala Beric Dondarrion.)
Most recently, this well thought out theory as to who Jon’s parents really are was posted and made the internet rounds.
And now it seems like Sean Bean has confirmed that Ned Stark is NOT Jon’s father. In an interview with Vulture about his new TNT show Legends, Sean Bean casually dropped a tidbit about Game of Thrones.
“I’m obviously not Jon Snow’s dad,” said Bean, while discussing the possibility of returning to Game of Thrones to do flashbacks. “You need that to be revealed at some point, don’t you? So Bran would kind of be the one having the flashback, and he would see Ned praying, right? And revealing those things.”
So there you have it, one of the most debated topics in the Song Of Ice And Fire series with a bit more information. Thanks, Sean Bean.
