Creator short profile:
– Name: A.J. Petrini a.k.a. “Viper6”.
– Location: Transient artsy type…(I’m probably moving right now). (U.S.A)
– Creative style: Far ranging, versatile…from cartoony, to dark, goth, and gritty.
– Website/s: No web sites to call my own, but more and more of my work is making it onto my haunt, OG13.com
– Bragging rights(Featured work/collaborations): Recently created Viper6 Operations Group, a collaborative effort to get some third party “Joe” toys off the ground (“operators” will change out depending on what the project/mission set calls for), check out the Devil Ray w/ Sea Demon figure vehicle combo in the works under my customs section over at OG13 (it’s a beast), a lot of talent assisting me with bringing this to market, some great folks from the “Mayhem customs crew” which I’ve proudly been apart of for some time now. Got a lot of other custom work featured on their too, but make sure you dig some of the fan fiction while your over there.  I’ve been penning “The Crimson Cloth” for a while now and actually imported it from another site which I previously frequented (and now have completely distanced myself). Its a pretty edgy telling of Cobra’s Crimson Guard Corps which I sadly haven’t given enough attention to as of late; reason being I’ve been all fired up another collaborative effort called “Citadel” which is set in in a pretty grim future strewn with monstrous mutants, lycanthropic wildlings, and waring city states struggling to reclaim the earth from total Armageddon.  Its got a lot of promise and I’m really looking forward to taking the concept further into not just books or comics, but role playing games, action figures, maybe even hit up Xbox!

Creator continued profile. Let’s get a tiny bit personal:

– What are your goals as a creator?: To create and kindle fire in the head; its all about imagination, illumination and empowerment.

– What do you think of Comics being made into movies?: Love it, even when it isn’t done well or more appropriately stated, doesn’t meet with my expectations, its still an artistic endeavour and if approached with an open mind you’re likely going to take away SOMETHING you like.  I’m furious with Michael bay and the whole Transformers fiasco but he helped reinvigorate the line and drew in new fans, also it was a great giant robot movie; so I can say something positive (but for me it didn’t even approach what transformers should’ve been growing up on the cartoon and comics).

.

– Has reading a Comic ever changed your life? Which one/why? (If yes): I think comics in general changed my life, I had a difficult childhood and they were the escape I needed and the inspiration to try, while I’m 35 and haven’t yet arrived …Comics led me to take up the creative process, recognized or not, I’ve done a lot of work that has been very rewarding

– If someone created a Comic about your life what would they title it?:
Good luck with that one, first off it would probably be censored.

– If you could have a Comic character for a child, who would you chose to raise/why?: Maybe Beast, it’d kind of be like have a dog, a body guard and a really smart son of a bitch to bounce my ideas off of.

– If you were a tree, what would be carved into your trunk?: Hopefully nothing, I can’t imagine that’d feel too good.
.

– Where there any defining moments in your life that have influenced your creative style?: I’ve been so blown away by the talent over the years, guys doing such truly unique stuff, that have caused me to constantly push my comfort zone and try new stuff…I’ve never stopped evolving and experimenting, I’m like a dark alchemist…all ink and incantations, not always sure what I’m summoning but its rarely safe.

– If you could have any power from a Comic character, what would it be/why?:
See I’ve always been a fan of the guys without the superpowers, the Punisher takes point… but I’ve got a lot of love for Batman and Iron Man as well.  I guess just their toughness and tenacity, genuine intelligence, athleticism, their skills and abilities…Each of them really represent personal excellence and the stories of self sacrifice and tragedy that haunt each of them are emotionally epic.

.
– Favourite Comic artist of all time/why?: Really can’t play favourites here, there’s too many I enjoy for too many reasons.

– Favourite Comic writer of all time/why?: Again, this is something I’d be lying about if I even suggested there was “one”.

– What do you prefer to snack on when creating a masterpiece?: Pizza, wings and dark beer, might even see it on to Johnny Walker blue if life and finances allow.

– What pet would you have given the chance to own one?:
I’m not really all that into pets, I love animals… don’t get me wrong, I just have a pretty dynamic life and don’t have the time to give to the care of anything. Also I feel kind of like a warden, locking any living thing down like that… birds and bunnies in cages make me sad and fish overcrowded in aquariums. – Suppose if I was wealthy I’d set up a wildlife sanctuary and save all kinds of cool endangered species but I’d wanna do it right, nothing like a zoo.

– Likes: Having time to create and having  like minded folks to contribute and appreciate.

– Dislikes: The often unyielding white of paper!

– Favourite joke: I don’t know about any one joke in particular bit I think Louis C.K. is fk’n hilarious!!! I about pissed my pants listening to him. seriously, I cried.  Love this guy.

– Any thank you’s/shoutouts?:   Absolutely, I wanna thank all my boys at OG13, Mayhem Customs, and the fine instructors I had at AIP, and all of the artists, writers, and creative types that have inspired me. Also want to thank my fans how ever far and few; every kind word and criticism is well received and fuels the way ahead, hope some of what I do resonates within you.  Thanks Nessa!
