The first reports of this acquisition made it sound like Netflix was precognicent when it comes to Fox networks and their upcoming series Gotham. I say this because Fox doesn’t exactly have the best reputation when it comes to good sci-fi or superhero based shows sticking around for more than one season. And sometimes NOT EVEN a season.
The details of this deal say that now, Netflix is the sole on-demand provider for Warner Brothers Television series Gotham. Which, if the show ends up being good, and STILL getting canceled, means it’ll probably continue under the award winning banner of Netflix. Deadline goes on to say that this pact builds on Warner Bros.’ existing relationship with Netflix, which includes another precedent-setting pact that covers all CW series.
