Cult classic Clue is next up on the reboot slate. Yes, you read that correctly, someone at FOX (shocking, I know) thinks it’s a good idea to remake the much beloved film from 1985 based on the Parker Brothers who dunnit board game. Clue was written by John Landis and directed by Jonathan Lynn, arguably the perfect gentlemen for the job. This’ll be the second Tim Curry film the studio is redoing, with The Rocky Horror Picture Show remake to be hitting the FOX affiliates sometime later this year.

We can only assume this means that current FOX studio heads think they can make a BETTER version of the movie? Really? Have you SEEN the cast?

Obviously this announcement comes as a bit of a surprise. Tracking Board is largely being credited for “breaking the story”, which includes details of the Universal haggle for the rights back in 2010. So, right around the time of Battleship, huh? Need I remind you guys there *IS* a TETRIS movie happening, too? I guess we know what’s next after Clue, right?
Anyhow, there are some interesting details about this remake, including the location of the action. Reportedly, the murder mystery will NOT be limited to one single mansion, but rather a world wide globetrotting jaunt of action. This of course makes me wonder if they’ll bring in new characters, or anchor the existing set of pawns in different countries.

So far, it looks like Josh Feldman is producing Clue for Hasbro Studios, who currently own the film rights. Ryan Jones serving as the executive producer, and Daria Cercek is overseeing for FOX.
We’ll let you know as more information becomes available. Let us know who YOU would want to see cast in the remake!
