– Bragging rights(Featured work/collaborations): I’m currently working for Creature Entertainment on the interior pencils for their comic book “TS-101” and some side cover work. I’ve also done a few covers for a couple of Con Artist Entertainment’s books such as “Joshua Black” and “PROJECT: OVERWATCH”.

POWArtist continued profile. Let’s get a tiny bit personal:
.– What are your goals as an artist?: My goal as an artist is to become famous enough that I can draw comics for a living. Not necessarily working with Marvel or DC comics but any big publisher. I just want to draw comics until I’m too old to hold a pencil.
.
– Favourite artist/why?: The surrealist painter Salvador Dali! I love how strange and bizarre His imagination was. My favourite painting is “The Persistence of Memory”. – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salvador_Dal
.

– What do you think of Comics being made into movies?: I love comic book movies! So long as they stick as close to the source material as possible.
.
– Where there any defining moments in your life that have influenced your artistic style?: Yeah growing up I used to watch a lot of Dragonball Z and when I first started drawing my style was greatly influenced by that anime. Years later I found Gregory Capullo’s work on Spawn and I was amazed by his pencils so from that moment on I pushed myself to try and change my art style to a more American comic book style.

Joshua Black– Has reading a Comic ever changed your life? Which one/why?: I can’t recall a specific comic but when I was little my dad used to buy me comic books all the time. When I got a bit older I started trying to trace the art in the books and soon after I went from tracing to free-hand drawing and I just couldn’t stop. Slowly but surely I started to realize that this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

– If you could have power from a Comic character, what would it be/why?: Not so much a power but I would love to have one of them Green Lantern rings. Being able to create anything from your mind into an energy construct is pretty awesome.

– If someone created a Comic about your life what would they title it?:
“The Awesome Bad-ass Adventures of E-man!!!” Too much?

– What do you prefer to snack on when creating a masterpiece?: New York style pizza!!! Which can make the drawing process quite difficult. Cheese and tomato sauce everywhere!
.
Creature Entertainment Ultravixen– Favourite Comic artist of all time/why?: My favourite comic artist would have to be Gregory Capullo. His art style is just so dynamic and detailed. Every time I look at a single frame in one of his pages I get so inspired. – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greg_Capullo

– Where do you ‘draw’ your daily inspiration from?: I draw inspiration from my favourite artists. I see what they’ve accomplished in their comic book careers and it just pushes me every day to sit down at my table and draw until my hand bleeds.

– If you could collaborate with anybody, who would it be/why?: I would love to have my pencils inked by the great Jonathan Glapion! He works closely with Gregory Capullo and his inks are always perfect! – http://www.jonathanglapion.com/

– What is another word for “thesaurus”?: A dinosaur.

– If you could marry one Comic character who would it be/why?: That’s a tough one. I love strong women. I think I’d have to go with Power Girl… No wait! Ms. Marvel! Hhhmmm… I can only pick one?!

TS-101 sample 2– Dislikes: Anchovies. No anchovies please.

– Likes: Drawing mostly but also playing video games on my spare time, trying to catch up on my comics, tv shows and movies, drinking, eating, sleeping, bumping uglies, and hanging out with friends. Those are not in any specific order by the way.

TS-101 sample 1– Favourite joke: A man walks into a bar with a giraffe. They both get pissed. The giraffe falls over. The man goes to leave and the bartender says, “Oi! You can’t leave that lyin’ there.” And the man says, “No. It’s not a lion. It’s a giraffe.”

– Any thank you’s/shoutouts?: I want to thank my lovely girl friend Christie. She has been with me for 10 years and she’s always been there for me pushing me forward with my dreams and goals. Also all my friends! They have been there for me through tough times and helped me through all these years. And of course my parents! Without them I wouldn’t have had an awesome childhood filled with pizza, cartoons and comic books which lead me to follow this artistic path!
