– What are your goals as an artist?: While I want to establish myself as an Illustrator, Painter and Graphic Designer, I find myself more concerned with what my responsibilities are as an artist. Often thinking about what I can do to make people smile, bring awareness or evoke emotions in someone.

– Favourite artist/why?: Geoff McFetridge, Alex Pardee, Jeremy Geddes, Fulvio Di Piazza, just to name a few. I think I like them a lot because their style either feels vaguely similar to my drawing style or I aspire to be as good as what I see them producing.

– What do you think of Comics being made into movies?: While I am capable of kicking back and letting go of all my Film Training in College and enjoying a movie for what it is, I can certainly appreciate that a lot of things get lost in translation when being adapted. Beyond that I don’t really concern myself with a strong opinion about it.

– Has reading a Comic ever changed your life? Which one/why?: I don’t know that any ONE particular comic changed my life because I was less concerned with story and always more attracted to the Illustrations and artwork of comic books. I grew up drawing comic book characters and cartoon characters. I remember staring at covers of comic books for hours and trying to recreate it on my own. Superman, Spider Man, Batman, Iron Man, Spawn, X-Men…

– If you could collaborate with anybody who would it be/why?: I’d like to work with other artists, but haven’t really thought much about it.

– If someone created a Comic about your life what would they title it?: The Cold Colours of the Wind.

– Where there any defining moments in your life that have influenced your artistic style?: Throwing away my Attention Deficit Disorder medication was the first step to discovering myself and finally beginning to draw again, after many years of being stifled. It allowed my mind to return to a state of creativity that had been masked by drugs.

– If you could have any power from a Comic character, what would it be/why?: Telekinesis. It is one of the powers that have always been the most appealing to me. I’d probably use it playfully most of the time until I run into situations where it might actually be beneficial.

– Favourite Comic artist of all time/why?: Alex Ross and Todd McFarlane were artists whose work always stuck out to me the most as a boy, but now that I’m older I am more open to enjoying whatever work I can get my hands on.

– What do you prefer to snack on when creating a masterpiece?: Usually drink water or beer while I work.

– Where do you ‘draw’ your daily inspiration from?: My own experiences working retail, Astro-turf, street art, public displays of affection, street canvassers, long drives, new kicks, a comfortable T-shirt, plants.

– Why did Yankee Doodle name the feather in his hat Macaroni?: Google it.

– Ever had a sexy dream about a Comic Character?: No, I have not. Sorry.

– Likes: Craft beer, a nice whiskey, good food, catching up with old friends, great music, kindred souls, a walk through the woods, sketching by the lake, climbing trees, sarcasm, open minds, street art, typography.

– Dislikes: Entitled customers, whining, ego, dry chicken, car horns, glitter, bratty children, bad television, avocados and excuses.

– Favourite joke: I’m not good with jokes.
