The gaming world has been asking for this project since the first “Assassin’s Creed” game came out in 2007, and it looks like things are FINALLY moving forward.
Production on the Assassin’s Creed live action film started officially this morning, reports GameSpot. This actually seems to be cutting their timeline close, as the movie from 20th Century Fox is scheduled for a December 21, 2016 opening. (That’s one week after the first new Star Wars film.)
Variety is reporting that Marion Cotillard has been cast to star alongside Michael Fassbender in the film. We don’t know much about who she’ll be playing, but we’re excited to see how she does in what we’re assuming will be a heavy action-stunt-fighting role. The two actors have previously worked together on a gritty version of Shakespeare’s Macbeth.
