Not one to miss an opportunity for publicity, Pepsico is jumping on the let’s make Back to the Future 2 as real as we can bandwagon. They are in good company such as Nike, Hendo and Lexus, not to mention some of the technology we may forget was predicted in the film, such as widescreen flat tv’s.

Having their finger on the pulse of pop culture is good for us as fans, giving us a taste of sweet carbonated nostalgia. Pepsi is set to release 6,500 Pepsi Perfect bottles and in honor of 2015, the year Marty Mcfly travels to in the movie, the bottle, with real sugar Pepsi inside, will cost $20.15.

“We’re fans of this popular trilogy, and just generally, if you work at Pepsi you’re fans of pop culture. The brand has made its mark in pop culture frankly since Michael Jackson moonwalked. We’ve been dancing in and around pop culture for a while,” says Lou Arbetter, PepsiCo’s senior director of marketing, “So we look at this as another opportunity to have a little bit of fun.”

Cosplayers out there looking to score one of these bottles can find them at New York Comic Con this week. Pepsi will be bringing 1500 of the bottles to give to Marty McFly cosplayers looking to complete their costumes. Dust off your Nike Air MAGs and get one for yourself. My question is, do you drink it or leave it sealed?

The bottles will be on sale on the 21st of October, keep watching Pepsi for details.
