I am a huge fan of Anthony Bourdain’s, going all the way back to his pre-travel network days during A Cook’s Tour.  Pretty sure I’ve read almost everything he’s written, too.  His prose style is one that I highly enjoy, whether it be fiction or autobiographical.

Tony has a film coming out based on one of his fiction books, did you know that?  Three years ago it was his graphic novel, Get Jiro, that everyone was talking about.  It’ll be premiered at SXSW (South By South-West), the ginormous multiday festival that takes place in Austin Texas combining film premieres, convention-like Q & A’s, and concerts.

Bone In The Throat follows a young ambitious chef who finds himself stuck as a witness to a murder in his own kitchen. His uncle pulls him into the East End London mob and expects him to join the family business. He will have to work quickly to undo his uncle’s mess, while keeping himself alive and out of jail.

I would like to point out that Entertainment Weekly got something wrong in their write up also, because they do not credit Bourdain as co-authoring the screenplay based on his work. (Good job guys.)

We still have no official release date for the film, but we’ll let you guys know when it gets one.
