It has been announced several times that Chris Pine has been in talks with Warner Brothers but the role he would play bounced back and forth several times. In most recent rumors, Green Lantern’s Hal Jordan was mentioned, while Wonder Woman’s love interest Steve Trevor was also suggested.

The Wrap has now reported that Pine will be playing the part of Steve Trevor, Wonder Woman’s main love interest from the comics.  This means he will star opposite Gal Gadot in her upcoming Wonder Woman film. Even though there are no plot details, The Wrap says:

“Steve Trevor will be no mere love interest for Gadot’s Diana Prince, as there will be plenty of action to keep him busy.”

Wonder Woman opens June 23rd, 2017.
