26738_415874985882_7920912_nCreator short profile:
– Name: Greg Boucher.
– Location: Las Vegas, NV.
– Creative style: I mostly draw my inspiration for my writing from actual events in my life, tweak them a bit so they make sense in a comic context, and burden my characters with them.
– Website/s:
www.facebook.com/studiostellapolaris
www.studiostellapolaris.com
– Bragging rights(Featured work/collaborations): I don’t have a lot to “brag” about, but I’ve been working on a maxi-series called “True North” and a graphic novel named “Slave”. I’m currently working on a follow-up to “Slave”.
.

issue 1 cover (lettered)Creator continued profile. Let’s get a tiny bit personal:
.
– What are your goals as a creator?: The easy answer to this is “to tell a good story”. When I was younger, I just wanted to write comics because it was cool. That motivation may have worked on its own, but I got older and hit some bumps in the road, so I started writing about that. I feel that my story is worth telling, and maybe someone can take something away from it.
.
– If you could collaborate with anybody, who would it be and why?: John Romita Jr. I’ve always been a big fan of his work, especially his work on Spider-Man. I think his style is wonderful and would fit my book perfectly. Or Wes Anderson, I’d love to make a superhero movie with him.
.
– Where there any defining moments in your life that have influenced your creative style?: I lost my dad back in 2004. I was already dealing with depression, and I probably took his death as hard as I did because of that. I still deal with it from time to time. A lot of the backstory of “True North” is based on that. I had to write it to get all of these feeling out. I tried to add a bad breakup I had in there for some extra flavor, but it was really about my dad. I was listening to a lot of Elliott Smith at the time and it was really helpful to know that there was someone out there that there were people out there that were dealing with depression. There are similar father themes in “Slave” but I don’t think they’re as heavy.
.
graphic novel page 72 (inks)– If you could have any power from a Comic character, what would it be/why?: Telekinesis. Nothing is ever out of reach, you never need anyone to give you a hand with home repairs. your hair always looks great, and you can ice a cake perfectly.
.
– Favourite Comic artist of all time/why?: JR Jr., and Amanda Conner. I love her faces and expressions.
.
– If somebody created a Comic based on you, what would it be titled?: Aside from “True North”? Probably “Snarky Jerk Quarterly” or something like that.
.
– Favourite Comic writer of all time/why?: I’m a big fan of Brian Bendis. I’m a sucker for good dialogue.
.
– What do you prefer to snack on when creating a masterpiece?: Probably something with a straw, so I don’t get greasy fingerprints on the keyboard. I don’t really think about what I’m eating as I create. To me it’s more about what I’m listening to, which is usually something dark and heavy.
.
– Have you ever had any brushes with the law?: Does working in law enforcement count? I worked in a prison as a corrections officer for a short time. Outside of that, I was handcuffed once, but not arrested or anything. The story is pretty heavy (there’s that word again!) for polite company, so I’ll leave it at that for now.
.
preview page 5 (inks)– What do you wear to bed?: I like to impress, so, usually a tuxedo.
.
– What historical Figure would you love to see in current times?: Ben Franklin.
.
– Likes: Hockey. Pen and Paper RPGs, Spider-Man, and lately I’ve been enjoying the new Captain Marvel book by Kelly Sue DeConnick.
.
– Dislikes: The Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup as I was typing this and I’m feeling bitter, so I’ll say them, Superman, and “The Vinyl Cafe”.
.
.
– Favourite joke: I’m not sure, It’s probably a meme or some really top-rate trolling.
.
issue 12 page 2 (letters, large)– Any thank you’s/shoutouts?: My wife, Diane, for reading my scripts, putting up with me staying up to type instead of coming to bed, and making all the different websites I’ve had over the years. The various artists I’ve worked with over the years: Guillermo Hansz, Justin Newberry, Aaron Houston, Gilbert Cuevas, Louis Manna, Vic Moya, Bogdan Kelaru, Jethro Morales, Manuel Martin, and Aleksandar Bozic. Ray, Shauna, Matt, Joe, and Shannon for playing in the games that inspired the stories. Matthew and Edward for reading countless scripts. And finally, my mom, my stepdad, my grandparents, and my uncle, Dave, for helping me pay for all this artwork!
