A few hours ago Ryan Reynolds opened up about the internet’s reaction to the Deadpool leaked footage. What he had to say on the matter:
“There was such an overpowering reaction to the footage, you sort of feel like, ‘Oh, so we weren’t crazy for our reasons for loving this character, for loving this role.’ It’s interesting to see the power of the Internet. It’s awe-inspiring, actually,” Reynolds told the Niagara Falls Review. “And it’s neat that Twitter and Facebook and Instagram can move mountains when used in the right way.”
Well now it looks like 20th Century Fox will be moving forward with a Deadpool solo film. It has already been given a release date of February 12, 2016. This is three months before the X-Men: Apocalypse is scheduled, and has caused the reboot of Fantastic Four to be pushed back to August 7th 2014.
We’re hopeful this means Ryan will take on the role of The Merc With A Mouth.
Ryan Reynolds is expected to star with director Tim Miller at the helm and a script by Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.

This has also seemed to cause Fox to move around other release dates, moving the Assassin’s Creed which originally had an August 7th release date to question marks and The Fantastic Four reboot film from June 19, 2015 release to August 7th.
