AMUCK AMUCK AMUCK!
Disney+ has announced plans for a sequel to 1993’s smash Halloween hit “Hocus Pocus.”
According to Variety, Jen D’Angelo (“Workaholics” writer and co-producer)is on board to pen the script. The story will reportedly follow the witches as they try to acclimate to the 20th Century. They then discover — to their horror — that Halloween has become a holiday.
At present Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy are NOT attached- nor are the other original “Hocus Pocus” cast- but Disney is hopeful that they may become involved.
**UPDATE**
National treasure Doug Jones, who played Billy Butcherson in the first film, posted this great throwback image along with what he knows about the possible sequel:
Talk of a sequel has been happening for over 5 years now, so with the recent articles about this, you know as much as I do. I have no answers to those questions other than I’d be tickled pink to return as Billy, if offered.
We’ll let you know what we hear about this possible project.
Disney+ is set to launch next month on November 12th.
