The Marvel Cinematic Universe has a pretty darn good track record of perfect casting choices to bring the larger than life characters and personalities of the funny paper Heroes to the big screen.  We’re looking forward to seeing how Benedict Cumberbatch does in the role of the sorcerer supreme, Doctor Strange.

The official first trailer premiered on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and you can see it here:

Director Scott Derrickson (Sinister, Exorcism of Emily Rose) has promised a new side of the MCU, as the film delves into magic and ancient figures rather than the space races of Guardians of the Galaxy.

The official synopsis of the film reads:

Doctor Strange follows the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions.

Marvel Studios Chief Kevin Feige said as to the visuals we can expect to see:

We were in VFX reviews the other day, one of the first ones for that movie — we just wrapped, we finished in New York…we did one of the first reviews and it was pretty exciting. It was pretty cool in terms of how 3D can serve that story. You know, sometimes 3D is a tool, like it is in Civil War, a tool of –another toy in the sandbox of how the Russos (Joe and Anthony) can present this movie, then there are times like what Disney is putting out with The Jungle Book –it’s certainly gonna be the case with Doctor Strange– that it serves the storytelling, that it advances the storytelling. And hopefully it helps bend people’s minds even more than with just the flat screen.

Doctor Strange is set to open worldwide on November 4th, 2016 and stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Tilda Swinton, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Rachel McAdams.
