It seems like Disney is on a reboot kick lately.  This week, we have the opening of a new version of Cinderella, in the next few years we’ll have Beauty and the Beast, The Jungle Book, and eventually, Dumbo.

While we’re not sure how ‘live action’ the new Dumbo is going to be, we do know that the project has fallen into the lap of director/visionary Tim Burton.  The film is expected to be a mixture of computer generated effects and live actors, although details on the project are still scarce at this early stage of development.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Walt Disney Pictures president of production Sean Bailey said Burton will be helming this new production.  “It’s a big world,”Bailey said, perhaps indicating the story will be broader than the original tale of a circus elephant with large ears who learns to fly.
