With the latest installment in the Fast and Furious franchise not even out of theaters yet, it should come as no surprise that during today’s CinemaCon, Vin Diesel announced there are definitely plans for an 8th film.
Specifically, this direct quote from Vin via Dave McNary of Variety on Twitter:
'I mean it from the bottom of my heart — you guys help me to make this magic … We are making 'Furious 8' – Vin Diesel #CinemaCon

Which was quickly followed by a date announcement:
Vin Diesel at #CinemaCon announces an April 14th, 2017 release date for 'The Next Fast & Furious' movie.

And now Variety is reporting this as a definite done deal, with a release date of April 14th, 2017.
