Giant Squid and 505 Games have released a new gameplay trailer for their upcoming title Abzu which will be available on PS4 and Steam, on August 2nd 2016.

Aggressors, I could not be more excited about this game. Do you remember that incredibly beautiful game, Journey? If you’re thinking of a game with beautiful music, easy gameplay and a gorgeous desert setting, then we’re on the same page. You guys, I loved that game. It was fun to play, the puzzles were at once well thought out and enjoyable to crack, and it was just so lovely.

Abzu has been created by the same creative minds that made Journey such a lovely well, journey. Set underwater, with your character a scuba diver, in this game you will descend in to the heart of the ocean where you will encounter majestic creatures and uncover ancient secrets long forgotten.

More about the title, from it’s developers –

“ABZÛ is an epic descent into the depths of the sea, where players will explore beautifully rendered ocean environments with fluid swimming controls. The experience draws inspiration from the deep innate narrative that we all carry within our subconscious: the story of ABZÛ is a universal myth that resonates across cultures. The name references a concept from the oldest mythologies; it is the combination of the two ancient words AB, meaning ocean, and ZÛ, meaning to know. ABZÛ is the ocean of wisdom.”

I am of the opinion that this is going to be an astoundingly relaxing game to play, if Journey is any indicator, it will be my go-to activity when winding down for the day. It looks like the tropical vacation that many of us have dreamt about since we were little, and I look forward to dipping into those magical waters myself.

Don’t expect me to come back up for a while, as these game developers are so good at creating a world you quite literally want to dive right in to.

Check out their website for more information and be sure to check this game out in August!
