It seems like Ghostbusters 3 may never happen due to many different things such as Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd both abandoning previously ‘finished’ scripts, the death of Harold Ramis, and the general tone of Hollywood currently with their “why make another sequel when you can REBOOT IT”.
But apparently, there IS another script, and Max Landis is working on ‘polishing’ it before it gets the green light. Max is the son of filmmaker John Landis (Animal House, Trading Places, Blues Brothers, Twilight Zone: The Movie) and has credits all his own including 2012’s script for Chronicle. He has both the pedigree and the ability to help the Ghostbusters project along.
No director has been assigned to film yet, and no word on other returning stars.
