Bad news Fannibals, NBC made the call earlier today to end the run of Hannibal after just three seasons.  Series creator Bryan Fuller (Pushing Daisies) just got his next project, American Gods, greenlit at STARZ so I don’t think he’ll be quiet for long.

Fuller said of the cancellation:

“NBC has allowed us to craft a television series that no other broadcast network would have dared, and kept us on the air for three seasons despite Cancellation Bear Chow ratings and images that would have shredded the eyeballs of lesser Standards & Practices enforcers.  Entertainment President Jen Salke and her team have been fantastic partners and creatively supportive beyond measure. HANNIBAL is finishing his last course at NBC’s table this summer, but a hungry cannibal can always dine again. And personally, I look forward to my next meal with NBC.”

Even Entertainment Weekly is shocked by the news. NBC recently decided to end it’s run of Constantine after a huge outpouring of fan support, leading many to wonder if the network wants to move away from the darker things and back to their less violent *snickers* Law & Order shows.
