Remember when we told you guys about the amazing time we had at the sci fi convention in Hawaii?  Well, they just launched their kickstarter campaign for HawaiiCon 2015, and you should donate/buy tickets so you don’t miss out.  I mean really, where else will you get the chance to enjoy the beauty of the Big Island along with stars from Battlestar Galactica, Stargate, Torchwood, and Farscape?

You can read my convention report from 2014 here.  I cannot say enough good things about the team putting this convention together, they have their hearts and minds in the right places to make another amazing event a destination for con-goers and fans the world over.

Tickets for HawaiiCon 2015 are on a special discount until December 31st. They are currently under $32 per day for the four day convention and are available through Eventbrite.  The event takes place at the Hapuna Prince Beach Resort Hotel on the Big Island. Here is their official 2015 kickstarter video:

A HawaiiCon facebook and twitter fan poll revealed that Dr.Who/Torchwood, Stargate, Firefly and Farscape are the favorite choices of shows for the 2015 convention and a Kickstarter campaign launches today to allow fans to select the celebrities to bring from these programs.  Just remember, the more we fans are vocal about who we’d like to see, the better chance we have at seeing them……and snorkeling, hiking, hula’ing, and stargazing with them.

So far, the confirmed guest list for 2015 includes (but is not limited to): Aaron Douglas (Battlestar Galactica, Hellcats, Hemlock, The Killing), Cree Summer (Drawn Together, Rugrats), Steve Blum (Digimon, Star Wars Rebels, Cowboy Bebop), Mary Elizabeth McGlynn (Ghost in the Shell, Digimon, Eureka Seven and Cowboy Bebop), Melissa Fahn (Digimon, Cowboy Bebop), Trina Robbins (Wonder Woman, Wimmen’s Comix), Steve Leialoha (DC Comics, Marvel Comics), Jane Espenson (Buffy, Firefly, Battlestar Galactica, Once Upon a Time), Brad Bell (Husbands, Torchwood), Bill Morrison (The Simpsons, Futurama) and Sam Campos (PineappleMan).

This week HawaiiCon also  launches an eBay site  to continue to raise money for charities. Auctions will feature autographed items from this past year’s event.  All profits from HawaiiCon 2015 will go to supporting education in science and the performing arts for the children of the Big Island.
