While currently in New Zealand attending the premiere of The Hobbit, Bryan Singer dropped a bombshell to stoke the evolution of the children of the atom. Recently confirmed as replacing X-Men: First Class director Matthew Vaughn, Singer is officially reuniting with his X-Men roots. Due to the time-traveling structure of the Chris Claremont penned titular story-arch, both Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart will be returning to their seasoned roles of Magneto and Charles Xavier for the film adaptation. Bryan Singer had this to say VIA his Twitter (HERE!) While it’s been heavily whispered to re-star the classic mutant cast, rumor-mill banter like the inclusion of Famke Janssen and possibly (like in the comics themselves) the saturating Hugh Jackman were never especially founded. Today changed that. Now no character seems out of the question…or multiples of the same one! Also confirmed are the returns of X-Men: First Class stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult. Needless to say, the cast is multiplying like rabbits.
