If you remember the days of TRUE Saturday morning cartoons, chances are you know who Jonny Quest is because reruns.  Born from the time period of Speed Racer, Jonny Quest aired in 1964, and followed the adventures of a pre teen as he traveled the world with his scientist father.

Deadline has announced that Robert Rodriguez (Sin City, From Dusk Til Dawn) is set to direct Warner Bros’ live-action adaptation of the classic cartoon series Jonny Quest.  Rodriguez is not only planning on directing this feature but also co-writing the script with Terry Rossio (The Lone Ranger, Pirates of the Caribbean)

My hope is that this does not go the way of Speed Racer, while visually stunning it was over all hated by audiences. (Even though I personally enjoyed Speed Racer the first time I saw it… I fear the re-watch… you never know what you will get on a re-watch.)
