For every budding 90’s kid in search for adventure and excitement, Jurassic Park became the summer of 1993’s velociraptor infested phenomenon. Much like the what-if theme-park’s genetically engineered thunder lizards, Crichton and Spielberg’s masterpiece endured what may feel like a prehistoric time-lapse with relative ease. Highlighted by memorable performances by Sam Neil and Jeff Goldblum in particular, the films true star-power laid within the animatronic dino-work of the late Stan Winston. Helping found the then novel CGI into the blockbuster staple tool it is today, the tangible dinosaurs meshed with the computer generated to render aesthetics so lifelike that they appear as alive today as they did in both the early 90’s and a wee bit further back. Solidifying that John Hammond’s dream, though perhaps not working out as he imagined, is very far from extinct, be welcomed back to his Jurassic Park this coming April 2013 for its pulse-pounding re-release. Life found a way…and 3D glasses!
