Apparently, Mike Colter (The Following) is Marvel’s choice for Luke Cage who will appear in 7 of the 13 episodes of Jessica Jones before getting his own series. The reason she got the role had to do with her chemistry with him in the auditioning process as by this time in the series the two of them are married.

According to Deadline, Marvel has finally locked down the actress who will star in Jessica Jones as the titular character– er– Jessica Jones! Their sources say Marvel has tapped Krysten Ritter for the lead, beating out 5 other potential actresses who tested for the role.

I have to wonder if we’ll see Matt Murdock show up in the series as well. We know that Jones works as a private investigator so having him show up in the series isn’t that much of a stretch. I assume we’ll get Jones in the Luke Cage series as well as maybe even the Iron Fist series. Don’t forget that Iron Fist was paired up with Cage in issue #48 of Power Man before the series became Power Man and Iron Fist by issue #50 until it was cancelled with issue #125. Lots of crossover potential in the upcoming Netflix series!
