Luke Cage trailer is out and it is awesome. The first trailer shown at Comic-Con gave us a minute long look at the indestructible hero showing off his bullet resistant powers. This new trailer shows us more about the other characters, the plot, and the show’s overall tone. We also get our first glimpse as the characters origin.

As promised yesterday by the Luke Cage Twitter account, a brand new trailer for the show has been released just minutes ago. This is the first full trailer to be released for the show, clocking in at 2 minutes and 46 seconds. The trailer shows off Luke Cage’s powers more in depth, and gives us a better look at the season one villain, Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes.

The action-packed series tells the story of Cage (Mike Colter), who gains super strength and unbreakable skin after a sabotaged experiment. Cage becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in the New York City neighborhood Harlem. But he is soon pulled out of the shadows and “must fight a battle for the heart of his city – forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.” 

Created by Archie Goodwin and John Romita, Sr., Luke Cage is one of the most popular street level heroes in the Marvel Universe who possesses superhuman strength and impenetrable skin. He’s also a friend and frequent business partner with Danny Rand aka Iron Fist, who will also be getting his own series on Netflix starring Finn Jones as the title hero.

Other costars include Mahershala Ali (Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes), Alfre Woodard (Mariah Dillard), Simone Missick (Misty Knight), Theo Rossi (Shades), Frank Whaley (Rafael Scarfe), and Rosario Dawson (Claire Temple).

Netflix will release the whole first season of Luke Cage online on Sept. 30.
