Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is the upcoming open world action-adventure stealth video game developed by Kojima Productions and directed, designed, co-produced and co-written by Hideo Kojima. It will release on September 1st for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. The game serves as a sequel to Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and will carry over the same tagline of Tactical Espionage Operations first used in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.

The game is getting amazing reviews receiving a 10/10 from multiple sources.

Check out the Launch Trailer below:

Whether you’re a seasoned veteran to the series or someone who’s just checking this out going….I need to get this. You’re probably going to be a bit baffled about the storyline. Also because in MGS:V…there isn’t as much of a narrative as there was in past games. Yes, say goodbye to the good ol’ days of 40 minute cut-scenes and hello to the new ones of optional voiced recordings that delve deeper into the story.

Because this series is massive (spanning well over 20 years) you’ll probably need a recap. Luckily the good people at Gametrailers have you covered with the whole story leading up to MGS:V.

You can check that out below…because trust me, even if you think you know everything, you’ve forgotten things.

Still just as pumped? Good. So are we.

Without spoiling anything from the MGS: V story or reviews I can safely say that pretty much everyone that has gotten to play this game not only has said it is probably the best in the series but one of the best games of all time. Lets face it, if you’re checking this story out, you’ve probably already decided to purchase this apparent masterpiece of a game.

So I’m sure I’ll see many of you online come September 1st.

For more on MGS:V and other main titles this year, stay tuned.
