The newest game set to be released from the MGS arsenal, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, includes an interesting buddy AI system that will allow companions to join Snake during his missions. Earlier this week, it was announced that Quiet would join that buddy list. However, the most exciting news that has come out from Kojima Productions for me would be in the form of Diamond Dog or DD. This adorable husky wins your heart immediately as it attacks Snake’s face with viciously wet kisses and later, striking intimidating stances as a full grown wolf-dog with matching Snake eye patch.

However, the evil gaming gods have deemed this adorableness too mighty not to mess with. If DD dies in game, and that can happen at ANY time during the game, it is permanent. No respawns, magical potions, or worm holes…I would rather eat my own arm than let that fluff ball fall in combat. Especially in how much DD endears himself to you within the first two seconds of meeting Snake. LOOK AT HOW DRAMATICALLY EPIC THEIR POSES ARE!!

I’m completely serious, watch Snake’s interactions with DD and the accompanying squeals of how cute he is in Japanese.
