1985’s Explorers is tonight’s recommendation. Ethan Hawk plays Ben Crandall, an annoying 10 year old obsessed with aliens and space who dreams of the blue prints to build a spaceship.  Ben and his friends,Wolfgang and Darren build the ship  (which they name Thunder Road)  and go searching outer space for he aliens Ben has been looking for.

it’s directed by Joe Dante whom I adore, but is one of those movies you either really love or can’t stand. I really love it. total cult classic.
