This image has made the rounds and it’s hysterical! You want to believe it because, well, if you’ve ever been forced to use Internet Exploder you’ve also wanted to murder someone. Two problems though:

1. Causation and correlation are not the same thing. Just because I sneeze everytime a meteorite hits the atmosphere doesn’t mean my sneezes cause meteor showers. As awesome as that would be.
2. It’s not true. I never trust a chart that doesn’t tell you where it got it’s figures from. Someone else went looking for them so I get to be nice and lazy. Funny enough, there is a bit of a correlation but not as much as this chart makes it out to be! Click here if you want to see the actual charts.
