Daredevil was probably the best thing to come out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Iron Man (or possibly Guardians of the Galaxy). The cast was top notch and when they announced their new Punisher would be played by Jon Bernthal who will be going toe-to-toe with The Man Without Fear in season two, I couldn’t be more excited!

Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos also indicated that Bernthal could land his own Punisher spinoff. When asked about it by IGN, Sarandos said:

It is possible for sure. That’s the beauty of the Marvel universe. Any of them could spin out into films too.

We’re not sure what he means by “spin out into films” because it’s possible he means on the streaming channel or on the big screen. If it is on the big screen, I wonder how much Disney will allow them to be involved.

Punisher will make his debut in Daredevil Season 2, premiering in early 2016 on Netflix.
