In an interview with Resident Evil film franchise director Paul W. S. Anderson, we learned that this upcoming installment of the Anti-Umbrella Corporation zombie killing adventure series will be the last.

MoviePilot.com ran a story today stating Anderson was talking about the new movie, which recently acquired the title Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, Anderson commented:

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter is the working title. It may end up being the final title, but that’s what’s written on the front page of my script… I’m right in the middle of [the first draft].

And when prompted if this will actually be the last chapter in his Resident Evil universe, Anderson replied:

That’s what’s on the title page; it’s Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, so absolutely.

As sad as this all sounds, it was probably time to stop the series after the third film.
