Paul Reubens used to be a childhood staple.  No really, there was a time when Pee-Wee’s Playhouse was a much watched show, and EVERYONE knew how to do his little dance.

1988 was the last time we saw the grey suited, red bowtie wearing, bicycle riding Herman in his own movie, but Netflix is changing that.  Pee-Wee’s Big Holiday stars Paul Reubens, returning to the character which he created in the ’80s at The Groundlings, along with Joe Manganiello (True Blood, Magic Mike XXL), Jessica Pohly (Stalker), Alia Shawkat (Arrested Development) and Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn Nine-Nine).  Paul Rust (Love) penned the script, and it’s being produced by Rust and Judd Apatow (Trainwreck), and directed by John Lee (Wonder Showzen).

Judd Apatow said: “I love Pee-wee Herman, and I always wanted more Pee-wee Herman movies and TV shows so I’m very excited to see the film, which is really funny and silly and stays to the spirit of all his other work…[Paul Reubens] knows exactly what he wants to do and what the voice of that work is, so we tried to help in any way we can, but it really is a world he has invented. We’re just trying to help to make another one.”

Pee-Wee’s Big Holiday releases on Netflix March 18th, 2016.
