1:30pm – It’s go time!

1:36pm – Chris Hardwick is on stage and moderating this one.

1:37pm – Sam Jackson introduces that they’re doing a road show with Hateful Eight in 70mm starting Christmas. It’ll be shot in Ultrapanavision 65mm.

1:43pm – Nope, no trailer yet. Quentin Tarantino has been brought up.

1:44pm – Quentin Tarantino cut a 7 min piece exclusively for Hall H! Holy crap, they only made one set of those lenses so they are physically the same lenses that shot Ben Hur!

1:50pm – Here’s we go! Snowy mountainscapes. A horse drawn carriage comes around the corner and encounters a traveller looking for a ride. It’s Samuel L. Jackson as Major Marquis Warren aka “The Bounty Hunter”! Kurt Russell as John Ruth aka “The Hangman” and Jennifer Jason Leigh as Daisy Domergue aka “The Prisoner” are in the carriage. With Walton Goggins as Chris Mannix aka “The Sheriff” looking for a ride so we’re up four of the Hateful Eight. They’ve been talking in a carriage until now where they’ve come to a cabin where they meet Demián Bichir as Bob aka “The Mexican”. Eventually Tim Roth as Oswaldo Mobray aka “The Little Man”, Michael Madsen as Joe Gage aka “The Cow Puncher”, and Bruce Dern as Gen. Sanford Smithers aka “The Confederate” are introduced in the Cabin as well.

But one of them is not what they seem. It’s very much a return to roots… kind of reminds me of Reservoir Dogs in the west.

2:01pm – What pissed Quentin Tarantino about the leaked original script was that it wasn’t finished. He’s still thinking about doing Kill Bill Vol. 3.

2:06pm – Tarantino wants to make a third western film so that way he can officially call himself a western director. “Any less then 3 and you’re just dabbling,” he said.

2:11pm – If I can’t shoot or release on film, then to hell with that. I like the idea of leaving you wanting a little bit more. He thinks if everything goes digital, it reminds him of just watching HBO. And maybe he’ll follow that route and make a few miniseries instead of films!

2:17pm – What’s Quentin’s favorite line of dialogue he’s written: “The scene in the french farmhouse at the beginning of Inglorious Bastards.”

2:19pm – Ennio Morricone will be doing the original score for Hateful Eight! It’ll be his first Tarantino movie with an original score and the last time Morricone scored a western was 40 years ago!
