As many people know Sony owns the rights to Spider-Man and they refuse to release their grip on the franchise. They realize that they can make money off of the iconic hero. Fans everywhere cry. Everyone would love to see Spider-Man team up with the Avengers on the Silver Screen but we all sort of accepted that this will never come to be a reality.

Well in some recent “news” from HitFlix it seems that there might be some “exciting news” in the Spider-Man world.  Here is a quote from that article

Sony, on the other hand, may be doing things the opposite way. While I can’t get the confirmations I need to verify the story, I’m hearing that there are some very cool “Spider-Man” plans being discussed that would help Sony refocus their enormously important franchise while also opening up some connections in the onscreen Marvel movie universe that would blow fandom’s minds. Will it work out? I don’t know. I would love to be able to state for sure that it’s happening. What seems clear from what I’ve heard is that Marvel wants to be able to play with all of their characters, and if they can make that work creatively and on a corporate level, they will, and that means the world gets bigger again.

What exactly does this mean? If you are asking my opinion it means that Spider-Man would still be Sony’s property but would be allowed to enter into movies like Avengers. In addition to that it also sounds like Sony would like help from Marvel to develop the character they created so their movies can be profitable for them. That is what it sounds like to me when you pull out all the bullshit niceties.

Sony: Marvel we suck, we’re not worthy, help us.

Marvel: Obviously. But since you do not want to give us back our creation lets talk money and figure a way to make this work!

Fox: Eat me

Marvel: Fox you really are a bunch of asshole.

Fox: *Beavis from Beavis and Butthead Noises*
