Lucasfilm has not only release an image of Andy Serkis in motion caption suit but also the name of his  character in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

“Supreme Lord Snoke” is the character Serkis is noted as playing in the upcoming film. Nothing else is revealed about this new player in the StarWars.com interview, aside from the photo (by Leibovitz).  Serkis is most known for his fantastic Mo-Cap (motion capture) performances of Smeagol/Gollum in the Lord of The Rings/Hobbit franchises, King Kong, and Planet of The Apes.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens takes place 30 years after the events of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.  And other than that all we know is that Han and Chewie are home!

Starring Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker as their characters from the original trilogy, “The Force Awakens” also stars John Boyega as Finn, Daisy Ridley as Rey, Adam Driver as Kylo Ren, Oscar Isaac Poe Dameron, Lupita Nyong’o as Maz Kanata, and Gwendoline Christie as Captain Phasma. Also starring, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Crystal Clarke, Pip Anderson, Christina Chong and Miltos Yerolemou, the J.J. Abrams-directed film will debut in theaters on December 18, 2015.
