File this one under grain of salt: El Mayimbe on SchmoesKnow‘s “Meet The Press Podcast” says that DC’s Suicide Squad is on it’s way and more than that, they know who is on the roster.

So who’ll be part of the Squad? Deadshot and Captain Boomerang are both on the team and there’s no surprise there. The big surprise is that Vixen is also being added to the roster. Sure she appeared on the team in the comics but she’s said to have a big part in the film. These three characters will co-lead the movie and there’s more than enough personality differences to make this a fun, if volatile, team.

Rounding out the team is Blockbuster, Mindboggler, Jaculi, and Multiplex. Who’s not mentioned to be on the team is Harley Quinn so I wonder if they’re saving her for something down the road. Warner Bros. is apparently singling out David Ayer who’s latest film Fury will be hitting screens October 17, 2014.

This film may be part of the WB’s rumored plan to create lower-budget superhero films in between their tent-pole blockbusters. I also wonder if this will tie into the DC Universe or not. DC Entertainment seems to not be tying everything together in one cohesive universe so anything goes until we hear more.
