In preparation for the arrival of the new World of Warcraft expansion, Warlords of Draenor, that is set to be released in November means that Blizzard is going into overdrive in terms of marketing, especially in the Asian countries. In China, this month seems to be filled with non-stop reminders of the expansion from online cosplay contests to this particularly awesome partnership with the fast food gods, Micky-D’s…but only in China. What a giant tease you are, Blizzard!

Three lucky restaurants in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou were transformed into WoW-themed restaurants featuring posters, employees wearing Horde or Alliance t-shirts, even Thrall’s hammer that diners can take for a swing. Some of the restaurants even have pillars and epic gates for patrons to walk through (but not the one in Beijing apparently). People in costumes who visit are supposedly allowed to test out the new expansion prior to its release. McDonald’s has never been so appealing!!

I am seriously bugging out and considering moving my trip to the motherland up to before November 4th when the decorations must come down. Take your time looking at all the things added to make your dining experience have more of a WoW factor!

I guess Blizzard got over China’s whole unlicensed theme park fiasco (can it realllly be copyright infringement if they don’t use the words warcraft anywhere, right?)

Anyways..LOK’TAR OGAR *drops mic*
