We all got very excited when the first teaser trailer for The Hobbit: Battle Of Five Armies hit.  We didn’t think it could get much better, until the MAIN trailer released (which you can watch right here):

And of course, we have to talk about the use of Billy Boyd‘s (who played Peregrin ‘Pippin’ Took in the LoTR trilogy) song “The Last Goodbye”.  You can actually listen to the piece over on Billboard.  Billy says

“We focused on not just the final installment, but moreso on this 10-year epic adventure,” says Boyd.  “A song to sum up the six movies. We recorded in Wellington, New Zealand, at one point traveling to Auckland to Neil Finn’s studio — where we recorded some of the guitar.  It was surreal to be in his studio, as he did the song for [2012’s] The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.”

The Hobbit: Battle of Five Armies opens worldwide on December 17th, 2014.
