So far, the only movie in the X-Men lexicon I liked was X-Men: First Class.  This is mostly because I feel several of the main casting points in the previous films were WAY off the mark.

A pretty Wolverine?  Scott Summers being SOOOO much younger than Jean Grey?  I mean really, I can talk about this subject for HOURS.  Especially about the casting miss of Halle Berry as Storm.  WHY IN THE WORLD WASN’T IT ANGELA BASSETT?  Or for goodness sake, Tina Turner?  The thing I am the most excited about with the next chapter in Bryan Singer’s X-franchise is the reality of a major block of recasts of main team members.  Like Storm.

The actress’s name kicking around currently for this recast is Vampire Diaries‘ Kat Graham may be the current front runner.  This tells us a lot, actually.  If this rumor is true, it means they are going for a VERY young recast, and this means a drastic story change from the comic book continuity of the “Age of Apocalypse” storyline.

Those guys over at MoviePilot actually have a really good write up about it with some photo comparisons.

What do you guys think?  Will we see a COMPLETELY new X-Men team?  Do you think Kat is a good choice to follow in the footsteps of Ms. Berry?
