Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida will be adding an entire Star Wars themed park according to Theme Park Insider. It will be part of a revamp to Disney’s Hollywood Studios Park. (won’t be too much of a stretch as they already have the Star Wars Themed ride over there.)
TheForce.net, adds that some additions will include an expansion of the existing “Star Tours” attraction, a number of interactive environments and full-scale Mos Eisley Cantina (one can hope that we see Han blasting Greedo first) character meet-and-greet areas and possibly even an all-new ride.
Current plans call for a completion date of Dec 2018, the site notes that a year could be shaved off that timeline if Disney decides to ramp things up. Besides we all know that 2017 marks the 40th anniversary of the franchise and should also see the release of Star Wars: Episode VIII in theaters. Lord knows Disney will want to capitalize on that.
